Your DJI drone will automatically initiate a pre-flight self-test (PFST) of the Remote ID (RID) system before takeoff. The drone cannot take off until the PFST test successfully completes. The results of the PFST test can be viewed in the following locations:

DJI Fly
If Remote ID is working properly, DJI Fly will display the following “Takeoff permitted” message at the top left like this:
Tap the “Takeoff permitted” message to open the Preflight Checklist and verify the Remote ID functionality is normal like this:
If Remote ID is not working properly, DJI Fly will display the following “Remote ID error” message at the top left like this:

DJI Pilot 2
If Remote ID is working properly, the RID icon at the top left of the DJI Pilot 2 homepage will be displayed in black like this:
And “Normal” will be displayed at the top left of the Camera View like this:
If Remote ID is not working properly, the RID icon at the top left of the DJI Pilot 2 homepage will be displayed in red like this:
And a “Remote ID module error” message will be displayed at the top left of the Camera View like this:

DJI Goggles
If Remote ID is working properly, the Status section at the top left of the DJI Goggles will display a “Remote ID functionality normal” message like this:
If the Remote ID is not working properly, a “Remote ID error” message will be displayed at the bottom right of the DJI Goggles like this:

Phone or Tablet
Use the DJI remote controller to start the motors on the drone. Open the Wi-Fi settings on your phone or tablet to view all nearby Wi-Fi networks. If your drone is broadcasting Remote ID data, you’ll see a Wi-Fi network named like “RID-<your drone’s aircraft serial number>”.
